The largest school division in Winnipeg, Canada—the Winnipeg School Division—is undertaking several initiatives the teaching for reconciliation and meeting educational mandate of Truth Reconciliation Commission Canada’s 94 Calls to Action. These are being implemented many division’s K-12 schools a variety subject areas. This articleexamines reconciliatory that provide Indigenous non-Indigenous learners alike with meaningful information about traditional practices opportunities engage relationshipbuilding cross-cultural understanding. literature review section examines historical societal injustices perpetrated upon peoples, newcomers’ needs around issues, important role teachers have process. methodology focuses on document analysis its relevance as research method. article concludes an examination potential resistance Canada.
